Inej

Inej;
The moon shining from above,
jumping from rooftop to rooftop,
feeling the cold wind blow,
don’t look back.
wraith.
Don't look behind you,
don't look back to who you used to be,
to the beaches of your homeland,
to the peaceful sea,
for you will only remember that day,
the day you died.
You weren’t a wraith.
The creaking of the ship,
the smell of decay,
the person you were,
died that day.
You were a wraith.
A new person stands here, now,
never at peace.
You are a wraith.
Always running, jumping, clinging,
always looking back to see who’s there,
only to see yourself staring back,
a shadow of yourself,
a mere ghost haunting your memories,
never at peace.
You the a wraith.
You walk the streets,
climb the buildings,
you silently explore the city,
restless, finding avoiding,
the one you love.
You are,
                                                                      The Wraith.

  1. That was incredible. I've seen a few of your poems before but this one has to be my favorite. I love the whole idea of this poem. "Always running, jumping, clinging, always looking back to see who's there, only to see yourself staring back, a shadow of yourself, a mere ghost haunting your memories, never at peace." That was my favorite part, it was so beautiful and well written. I also enjoyed reading the one about fear. All of your poems are very inspiring and make me want to write some of my own. Your writing is incredible and you should definitely keep writing if its something you enjoy. I really like all of the thought you put into your writing. Being able to write things like that is a nice talent to have. Overall I think this poem was amazing.
